Lauren Hurvitz Named Executive Vice President and Chief Communications & Corporate Marketing Officer, Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Lauren Hurvitz has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Communications and Corporate Marketing Officer for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.) by Chairman and CEO John Martin Jr., the company announced today.

As Turner’s Chief Communications & Corporate Marketing Officer, Hurvitz will be responsible for brand reputation across all platforms, internal and external strategic communications, media relations and publicity, and assuring that all our organization’s communications reflect Turner’s core values and advance its business strategy. She will directly oversee Global Communications as well as Corporate Marketing, and report to Martin.

Hurvitz comes to Turner from Starcom Mediavest Group, part of Publicis Groupe, where she has served as Global Chief Communications & Brand Marketing Officer since 2012. Prior to that, she was Head of Global Corporate Communications and Events at AOL. Before that, she was Executive Vice President of Global Corporate Communications & Public Affairs for MTV Networks. At MTV Networks, she managed all aspects of the networks' corporate communications, standards and practices and corporate philanthropy functions. Previously, she was Executive Vice President of Robinson Lerer & Montgomery, the strategic communications firm, specializing in crisis communications. She began her career in political campaign management, grassroots organizing and constituency building. She holds an MBA from Columbia University and an A.B. from Duke University.
