WHAT: Latinos United, in partnership with leading national Latino
organizations, will hold an Illinois Latino Policy Summit to
release the first-ever statewide Latino Policy Agenda, with a
keynote speech by Congressman Luis Gutierrez. The release of the
agenda is the culmination of a two-year process which included
meetings with more than 600 Latinos from various sectors of the
community across the Chicago region. The Summit will also include
national and regional discussion panels covering issues of
importance to the Latino community as they relate to the Latino
            Policy Agenda.

WHY: The Latino Policy Agenda was created as a potential national
model, and will articulate a vision of Latino contributions and
inclusion in community development, youth, education, immigrant
integration, and other key areas. The Agenda will provide a set
of well-documented strategies that Latino leaders in the nation
