Joseph Plumeri, Chairman and CEO of Willis Group Holdings Ltd., to Address The Executives' Club of Chicago
CHICAGO, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Joseph Plumeri, Chairman and CEO of Willis Group Holdings Ltd., will address the members and guests of The Executives' Club of Chicago at its kick-off Chicago CEO Breakfast of the 2009-2010 season on Thursday, October 29, 2009.
Mr. Plumeri will speak on "The Time for Transparency: Restoring Trust in American Business." With the economic outlook slowly improving, he will discuss why only true transparency can restore the trust essential to recovery - and how true risk management needs to be understood and embraced in American business to avoid another crisis.
Since joining Willis in 2000, Mr. Plumeri has transformed the nearly 200-year old company into one of the most dynamic and innovative organizations in the industry today. Under his leadership, Willis has strengthened its position as one of the world's leading global insurance brokers through organic growth, strategic acquisitions, sector-leading margins and an insistence on transparency and passionate client service. In 2001, Mr. Plumeri took Willis public after a period of private ownership under buyout firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, and more recently spearheaded the acquisition of Hilb Rogal & Hobbs in what was the largest brokerage deal in the industry in 10 years. In 2004, Willis became the first - and only - insurance broker to abolish the controversial practice of accepting contingent commissions from insurance carriers and establish a Client Bill of Rights.
Willis has had a home in Chicago since 1885. Last summer, Mr. Plumeri added Willis to the Chicago skyline with the naming of Willis Tower.
The Club's quarterly Chicago CEO Breakfast Series features Chief Executive Officers of the most formidable Chicago-land companies whose innovative strategies have enabled their companies to compete successfully in the global marketplace. The October 29th program will be held at the Fairmont Chicago in the International Ballroom, 2nd Level. A networking reception will take place at 7:30 a.m., with the breakfast at 8:00 a.m. The cost to attend is $36.50 for Executives' Club members; $57.50 for non-members.
