Janney Announces Hiring of New Research Analyst Covering Biotechnology

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, a full-service financial services, wealth management and capital markets firm employing over 1,800 employees across 100 locations, announced today the hiring of a new research analyst, Roy Buchannan, who will be covering the Biotechnology sector based out of Janney’s midtown New York, NY office.

“Roy’s coverage will focus on the oncology, rare disease and orphan drug sectors and will further expand our Biotechnology franchise, His sell side experience coupled with his exceptional academic background makes him truly unique in the industry,” said Paul Knight, Head of Healthcare Research.

Prior to spending the last three years in the equity research group at Piper Jaffray in New York, Roy spent two years at JMP Securities. Roy began his career at Columbia University Medical Center, where he performed postdoctoral work in the areas of genetics and molecular biology.
