PRINEVILLE, Ore., May 21, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Adventure fans, romantics, and thriller enthusiasts alike are about to experience an amazing tale imagined by author Lawrence Allyn as Xlibris releases his novel Loose Cannon.

In this book, readers will meet Bo Mackenzie, who is enjoying an early retirement on the Oregon high desert with Red (a teenage rodeo queen) and Woofer (a wily German Shepard). Life is good until he visits Doctor Susan Roark, a beautiful psychiatrist, in an attempt to reveal his childhood memories, of which he has very few. While under the doctor's care, he meets her stepfather, Tom Dillenger, a shipping tycoon, and finds himself thrown headlong into a bizarre revolution to change the course of history.

From Alaska's frozen Arctic to the Great Plains, Mackenzie races across the country at tree top level, setting a high-tech web of electronics into place as the ghosts of his past begin to appear in his dreams, beckoning you to stay aboard and race up over the next horizon to another outrageous surprise. Will America ever be the same? After reading the story, will you? A must read!

About the Author

Lawrence Allyn was raised on planes, ships and trains throughout the northern hemisphere, attending a multitude of schools from Europe to Asia to the USA. At age seventeen, he entered the U.S. Army for a few years of thrills and chills, followed by a short second childhood cavorting about the desert southwest on two wheels. Finally, he got serious and became a landscape architect. After two decades of land development projects from Alaska to California, he and his wife of twenty years moved to the Pacific Northwest, where they work from home and enjoy the great outdoors. Lawrence is also a published photographer and licensed pilot. You may visit his website at www.allynventures.com.
