Industry veteran Guy Mehula joins Vanir Construction Management as President

SACRAMENTO, Calif., April 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Vanir Construction Management Inc., a leading provider of construction management services in the public sector, announced today that industry veteran Guy Mehula will become president.

Mehula, who has more than 35 years of experience in the global construction industry, is replacing longtime Vanir executive John Kuprenas.

Mehula spent the past three decades in a number of high profile, senior management jobs around the world. At Parsons, he headed up the international construction and engineering giant's buildings division and later was president of its Middle East Africa unit, which had record setting growth during his tenure.

Before that, Mehula was Chief Facilities Executive at the Los Angeles Unified School District, the second largest in the nation. There, he supervised more than 5,000 personnel who maintained and upgraded 77 million square feet of buildings on 900 campuses, and built more than 100 new schools.

Prior to LAUSD, Mehula spent 25 years in the United States Navy, where he handled a number of large-scale global assignments, including officer in charge of construction at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines; officer in charge of construction at Camp Lejeune, N.C.; and commander of the 30th Naval Construction Unit, a 9,000-person enterprise with 27 subsidiaries building projects from west of the Mississippi River to Bahrain.
