2016 donation enhances collaboration between EWB-USA and ITT to advance sustainable engineering projects globally

DENVER, Colo. & WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- ITT Corporation, a leading manufacturer of highly engineered, customized solutions for the energy, transportation and industrial markets, has been made a Diamond Level Partner of EWB-USA after announcing an enhanced philanthropic donation to the organization.

Engineers Without Borders USA (EWB-USA) is a nonprofit humanitarian organization that supports community-driven development programs worldwide through sustainable engineering projects. This donation strengthens the relationship between EWB-USA and ITT, which began in 2013.

"We are excited to expand our partnership with Engineers Without Borders so that we can continue to help the organization's volunteers provide much-needed assistance to underserved communities around the world," said Denise Ramos, CEO and President of ITT. "EWB's commitment to using engineering to solve critical problems and challenges reflects the work we do every day at ITT, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to grow this connection."

“We are thrilled to deepen our partnership with ITT Corporation,” said Cathy Leslie, EWB-USA’s Executive Director. “This company’s continued investment in our mission is reflective of our shared values to make an enduring impact in the world.”

ITT’s initial donation in 2013 enabled EWB-USA to mobilize several of the organization’s nearly 300 chapters to implement innovative and appropriate solutions with its partner communities, including the construction of a school in Camilo Ortega, Nicaragua, and an energy infrastructure project in Mekelle, Ethiopia. In 2016, ITT looks forward to continuing to fund local projects while supporting other EWB-USA initiatives and activities and offering its employees additional opportunities to get involved with the organization.
