IMDb began giving out annual TIFF STARmeter Awards at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival when Olivia Wilde was presented with IMDb’s inaugural award for her work in the TIFF 2013 films RUSH and THIRD PERSON. Paul Haggis, writer/director of THIRD PERSON, joined Col Needham to present Wilde with the award at IMDb’s TIFF 2013 dinner party. IMDb has since presented STARmeter Awards to Miles Teller for his role in WHIPLASH at TIFF 2014 and Jeffrey Tambor for his work in TRANSPARENT at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
