Honeywell Engineer Elizabeth Bierman inducted into Space Camp Hall of Fame

PHOENIX, July 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Space & Rocket Center (USSRC) has inducted Honeywell Aerospace (NYSE: HON) senior project engineer Elizabeth Bierman as a member of the Space Camp Hall of Fame. Bierman was recognized for her lifelong passion and professional success in engineering and aerospace, and joins three other exceptional individuals as a member of the 2015 class.

"I attended Space Camp when I was 12 years old, and my experiences there inspired my passion for aerospace and solidified my decision to go into engineering," Bierman said. "Now, as an engineer, it is amazing to be recognized for my achievements by an organization that inspires and educates young people. I am honored to join the other accomplished alumni as part of the 2015 class of the Space Camp Hall of Fame."

About Elizabeth Bierman

Bierman joined Honeywell in 2003 and currently leads project management for engineering programs across its Aerospace strategic business group. Bierman also helped pioneer the Women in Honeywell Engineering Network to encourage women in engineering at Honeywell to share technical knowledge, build mentoring and networking opportunities, and foster leadership development.

In 2014, Bierman was recognized with the Women in Manufacturing STEP Ahead Award, which honors women who have demonstrated excellence and leadership within the manufacturing industry.

She also has been active in supporting the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) in various leadership roles since 1994 and has served as its president since 2014. Bierman leads SWE on its mission to encourage women to achieve their career potential as engineers and leaders, expand the perception of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity.

Based in Huntsville, Alabama, the USSRC's Space Camp Hall of Fame includes graduates and former employees who have distinguished themselves in their respective careers, and made considerable contributions of personal time, effort or resources to further the camp's goals.
