HomePlug® Alliance Delivers Keynote Presentation at PT/EXPO COMM CHINA 2015

BEIJING--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The HomePlug® Alliance (www.homeplug.org), the worldwide industry group for powerline communications networking, today announced the Alliance will be conducting demonstrations at PT/EXPO COMM China 2015, as well as delivering a keynote entitled “Enabling the Smart Home with HomePlug Technologies.” The demonstrations will be supported by HomePlug sponsor members Broadcom Corporation and Qualcomm Atheros, a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated.

HomePlug’s keynote presentation, which will be delivered at 10:45—11:05 on Tuesday, 22 September, in Hall 5 of the China International Exhibition Center’s Shunyi New Hall, will explore the important role interoperable HomePlug technologies play in providing connectivity for both wired and wireless smart home devices in the Smart Home. “HomePlug AV2 is building on the success of HomePlug AV to support the demands of higher throughput applications such as 4K Ultra HD video and interactive gaming. At the same time, HomePlug provides an interoperable solution for IoT applications such as security and home automation & control with our HomePlug Green PHY standard,” said HomePlug Alliance President Rob Ranck.

HomePlug’s booth, No. 4715 within PT/EXPO COMM’s International Zone, will feature a demonstration of HomePlug AV2 technology showcasing multiple simultaneous streams of 4K Ultra HD video, and an nVoy® interoperability demo showing discovery of IoT devices. The International Zone is being sponsored by CAICT (China Academy of Information and Communications Technology). HomePlug recently announced that CAICT is an authorized test laboratory for HomePlug AV and AV2 product certification in China.
