Hoge Fenton Attorney John F. Cavin Elevated to Shareholder

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Hoge Fenton, a leading Northern California law firm, today announced that attorney John F. Cavin has been elevated to shareholder effective July 1, 2015.

Based primarily in Hoge Fenton’s Tri-Valley office, Cavin is a member of the firm’s real estate, litigation and mediation practices. He joined the firm in August 2014.

Cavin is a veteran trial attorney who has practiced for more than 35 years and has extensive expertise in title insurance, escrow operations and the construction industry. His diverse clients range from high-tech startups and existing businesses to food brokerages, title insurers, lenders and commercial contractors. He has also handled the negotiation and sale or merger of businesses ranging in size from $5 million to $50 million.

A founding member of the well-respected San Ramon firm Bardellini, Straw, Cavin & Bupp, Cavin has also served as in-house and outside counsel. He is a trained mediator and has mediated cases throughout Northern California. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Contra Costa County Alternative Dispute Resolution section.

Cavin is active in his community. He serves on the boards of directors for several nonprofit organizations, including the California Wild Sheep Foundation and the Whitehawk Ranch Mutual Water Company.
