Harbinger Capital Seeks To Buy Up to A Third of Cleveland-Cliffs (CLF)

In an amended 13D filing earlier today on Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. (NYSE: CLF), Philip Falcone's Harbinger Capital, a 15.6% holder (16,616,472 shares), disclosed that it seeks a vote to raise its stake in the company to up to one-third of the total voting shares.

Harbinger has been against Cleveland-Cliffs's takeover of Alpha Natural Resources Inc. (NYSE: ANR).

Cleveland-Cliffs, Inc., a mining company, produces iron ore pellets and supplies metallurgical coal to the steelmaking industry primarily in North America.
