Greenberg Traurig is Lead Sponsor of California Minority Counsel Program's 27th Annual Business Conference

Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP is the Lead Sponsor of California Minority Counsel Program's (CMCP) 27th Annual Business Conference in San Francisco, Oct. 20-21. The firm is a member of CMCP and Intellectual Property Shareholder Candice E. Kim is serving on CMCP's Conference Committee. Kim will also moderate and Tax Shareholder Bradley R. Marsh will present on the panel entitled, "The Nuts and Bolts of the On-Demand Economy." The panel will discuss growth areas for lawyers as startups, big brands, and retailers join the on-demand economy, intellectual and trademark issues, and legal and regulatory challenges.

The annual two-day event is an opportunity for business attorneys to network with and learn from legal and business leaders. CMCP is dedicated to promoting diversity in the legal profession by providing attorneys of color with access and opportunity for business and professional development. Greenberg Traurig has 11 attorneys participating in the conference.

Kim focuses her practice on the clearance, procurement, maintenance, enforcement, and licensing of intellectual property rights, including trademarks, trade dress, domain names, design patents, copyrights, and rights of publicity. Kim counsels clients on all aspects related to the acquisition and enforcement of trademarks and service marks, including the naming and branding process. She searches and clears trademarks and designs, as well as prosecutes trademark applications in the United States Patent and Trademark Office including filing requests for reconsiderations and ex-parte appeals. She also represents clients in all aspects of opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Marsh focuses his practice on tax controversy matters, including property, sales, payroll, business license, employment, franchise, parcel, district, documentary transfer, transient occupancy, utility user, income, parking, gift, and estate taxes. Marsh is experienced in representing clients in audits, litigation and administrative hearings, as well as analyzing transactions and business models, and providing legislative solutions.
