PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Green Dot Corporation (NYSE: GDOT) today announced the issuance of U.S. Patent No. 8,989,778, a patent that is directed to secure and private location sharing for location-aware mobile communication devices. This latest patent, in addition to Green Dot's other granted patents and patents pending, is indicative of Green Dot's growing intellectual property catalog related to mobile technology, financial services innovations and geo-location processes and capabilities.
