Goldman Sachs MLP Income Opportunities Fund Announces Quarterly Distribution of $0.345 Per Share

November 3, 2015 8:40 AM EST

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Goldman Sachs MLP Income Opportunities Fund (the “Fund”) (NYSE: GMZ) is pleased to announce its quarterly distribution of $0.345 per common share, the same as the previous quarter. The distribution is payable on the date noted below.

The distribution schedule is as follows:

Ex-Date:         November 13, 2015
Record Date: November 17, 2015
Payable Date: November 24, 2015
Amount: $0.345 per share

It is currently anticipated that a portion of this distribution will be treated for tax purposes as a return of capital, however, the final characterization of such distribution will be made in early 2016 when the Fund can determine its earnings and profits for the full year. The final tax status of the distribution may differ substantially from this preliminary information.

On October 13, 2015, the Board of Trustees of the Goldman Sachs MLP Income Opportunities Fund approved an amendment to the Fund’s distribution policy. The policy is set forth below and can be found on the Fund’s website.

Closed End Fund Distribution Policy

While the Fund seeks to distribute substantially all of the Fund’s distributable cash flow received as cash distributions from Master Limited Partnerships (“MLPs”), interest payments received on debt securities owned by the Fund and other payments on securities owned by the Fund, less Fund expenses, in order to permit the Fund to maintain more stable quarterly distributions, the distributions paid by the Fund may be more or less than the amount of net investment income actually earned by the Fund. These distributions could include a return of a shareholder’s invested capital which would reduce the Fund’s NAV.

There is no assurance that the Fund will meet its investment objective. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Investments in securities of MLPs involve risks that differ from investments in common stock, including among others risks related to limited control and limited rights to vote on matters affecting MLPs, potential conflicts of interest risk, cash flow risks, dilution risks and trading risks.
