Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and BMO Capital Markets have been ranked as the top three Investment Bank firms to work for among large firms.

Among boutique firms – those with fewer than 2,000 employees – Evercore, Duff & Phelps, and Headwaters MB grabbed the top 3 spots.

To accurately place these firms, Ivy Exec calculates each firm's "grade" by surveying 3,000+ current and former investment bankers on five relevant metrics: leadership, culture, quality of work, compensation, and prestige of the company.

About the Rankings

Ivy Exec surveyed over 3,000 investment banking professionals from 132 different firms in an extensive market research effort. Firms were divided into two groups according to the number of employees, with firms employing fewer than 2,000 employees classified as boutiques. 

Respondents rated the companies across five factors: Work, Culture, Money, Leadership, and Prestige. Using a proprietary algorithm, Ivy Exec analyzed and drew upon former and current employees' insights to calculate a numerical score for each company. The data presented in the rankings reflect the views and opinions of the survey participants plus a Market Index factor based on investment banking firms' rankings by major publications.
