Fortune Ranks Ultimate Software #4 Best Workplace for Women

September 16, 2016 2:00 PM EDT

WESTON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI), a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today that it has been ranked #4 on the 100 Best Workplaces for Women list by Fortune and Great Place to Work. Rankings are based entirely upon feedback from more than 137,700 women surveyed nationwide at Great Place to Work-certified companies.

“Ultimate is committed to offering all our employees a rewarding and fulfilling workplace with boundless opportunities to grow and succeed as people and professionals,” said Vivian Maza, chief people officer at Ultimate. “We believe passionately that women play a key role in a tech environment, providing innovation and leadership, and we take great pride in the fact our women feel respected and empowered at Ultimate. We’re extremely honored by this ranking.”

Women comprise nearly half (48 percent) of Ultimate’s total workforce, and 43 percent of UltiWomen hold leadership positions of manager or above. In 2015, Ultimate launched Women in Leadership to foster professional and personal development for women. This companywide Community of Interest, open to female employees at all job levels, encourages ongoing participation in seminars, workshops, community service projects, and informal networking events. Ultimate also offers paid maternity and adoption leave, as well as onsite benefits such as “Mommy’s Rooms” for nursing women.

Ultimate congratulates our customers also named to Fortune’s list of the 100 Best Workplaces for Women, including ACUITY Insurance, American Fidelity, Baker Donelson, Camden Property Trust, Concord Hospitality Enterprises, ESL Federal Credit Union, First American Financial, Hunton & Williams, JM Family Enterprises, Novo Nordisk, Quicken Loans, Roth Staffing Companies, SECURA Insurance, The Container Store, and Veterans United Home Loans.

In determining final rankings on Fortune’s list, women completed the anonymous Trust Index© survey, answering questions about how frequently they experience the behaviors that create a great workplace. This includes their assessment of communications with management, options for development and training, and support for work-life balance, among other factors. The rankings also take into account how well-represented women are within the workforce overall and in management and executive positions. Women’s anonymous responses resulted in a total score for each company, which was then compared with the benchmark for organizations of that size and ranked accordingly.

Both women and men at Best Workplaces for Women feel their companies provide ample opportunities to develop and advance their careers, while providing them with the flexibility they want for balancing their work and personal lives.
