Former FTC Regional Director Brad Elbein Joins Barron & Newburger, P.C.

Brad Elbein, a former director of two Federal Trade Commission regional offices, has joined Barron & Newburger, P.C. as Managing Attorney of the firm's new Atlanta office.

Mr. Elbein brings over 25 years of experience in all aspects of consumer and finance law and public policy, with a special emphasis on the automobile marketplace, advertising, and UDAAP cases. He has lectured widely and trained numerous state attorneys general offices on multiple topics including privacy and data security.

Barron & Newburger, P.C., is a national law firm with offices throughout the United States focusing on consumer financial services litigation, compliance, and insolvency and bankruptcy litigation.

Mr. Elbein served as a Regional Director in two of the Federal Trade Commission's regions – the Southwest regional office and the Southeast regional office. In those roles, he investigated and litigated hundreds of federal consumer cases. He has also held leadership positions in the Resolution Trust Corporation and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, as well as serving as the founding Chief of the White Collar Crime Division of metro Atlanta's central county.

Mr. Elbein was Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Texas where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with High Honors in 1978. In 1982, he earned his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Texas. He is licensed to practice law in the states of Texas, Georgia, and multiple federal jurisdictions. In his spare time, he builds mandolins, some of which have been played around the globe.
