Fiera Capital Expands Distribution in the US With New $540 Million 401(k) Mandate

August 11, 2015 10:00 AM EDT

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Fiera Capital Corporation (“Fiera Capital” or the “Firm”), announced that its U.S. affiliate will manage a new $540 million international equities mandate through a collective investment trust (“CIT”) implemented by the SEI Trust Company. The mandate was awarded to Fiera Capital’s U.S. registered investment advisory affiliate by a 401(k) plan sponsor with more than $20 billion in assets.

SEI Trust Company is a subsidiary of SEI, a leading supplier of customized operating infrastructure and services to investment organizations worldwide.

“The launch of the CIT is a significant step in Fiera Capital’s overall strategy to expand its presence and distribution in the U.S.,” said Richard Nino, Executive Vice-President, Institutional Markets at Fiera Capital Global Asset Management.

Since entering the U.S. market through its U.S. affiliates, Fiera Capital has been delivering strong organic growth in the United States by winning two dozen institutional mandates totaling more than $2.4 billion in assets.

“This new mandate is an important step because it opens up the defined contribution market for Fiera Capital,” Nino said of the CIT. “The fact that CITs continue to increase in popularity among plan sponsors only underscores the significance of this development for Fiera Capital.”

Nino said SEI’s market leadership and expertise in CITs made it the natural partner to help Fiera Capital’s U.S. affiliate leverage the vehicle’s advantages. “SEI’s execution of the CIT due diligence, launch and initial client on boarding processes has been outstanding every step of the way,” Nino said.
