Einstein's Life to be Honored in Board Game by Artana

Acton, MA (PRWEB) November 23, 2015

Board game publisher Artana has been selected to create a tabletop game based on the life of Albert Einstein. This announcement coincides with the 100th anniversary of Einstein's general theory of relativity. Scheduled for release in late 2016, the game will cover Einstein's broader personal narrative in addition to his scientific discoveries.

"We are humbled to be trusted with the opportunity to create a game experience based on Einstein's life," said Artana President, Marcus Muller. "Along with his fame as a scientist, Einstein embodied the attributes of courage and moral conviction, and evinced a personality of joy and lightness of spirit. This extraordinary combination made Einstein one of the most beloved individuals of the 20th century and we look forward to honoring his legacy."

A Nobel laureate and the pre-eminent scientist of the modern age, his theories and discoveries have profoundly affected the way people view the universe and their place within it. But Einstein's fame extended far beyond his scientific contributions. He was a worldwide celebrity before the age of social media, his opinion sought by world leaders and the press alike. The American public was captivated by his compelling story as an early immigrant fleeing Nazi repression, and his well-documented correspondence with President Franklin D. Roosevelt created a sense of urgency about the Nazi atomic bomb. His sagacious, wise and humorous quotations are widely used to this day throughout popular culture. His instantly-recognizable visage, captured in numerous photos, has (along with his name) become synonymous with the word genius. In 1999, Einstein was named TIME Magazine's "Person of the Century" and he is today a hero to millions not only for his scientific discoveries, but also for the humility and humanity he exhibited in sharing his genius with the world.

"We are excited that Artana is bringing Einstein's story to tabletop gaming," said Kevin Connelly, Director of Rights Representation at Corbis Entertainment, exclusive licensing agent for Albert Einstein. "Their renowned treatment in this genre of other scientific personalities like Sir Isaac Newton, Galileo Galilei, Thomas Edison, and Nikola Tesla gives us great confidence and we are delighted to be working with them on this project."

About Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein was born in Ulm, Germany on March 14, 1879. As a child, Einstein revealed an extraordinary curiosity for understanding the mysteries of science. In 1905, while working as a patent clerk in Bern, Switzerland, the young physicist Einstein obtained his Doctorate degree and published four of his most influential research papers, including the Special Theory of Relativity. In that, the now world famous equation "e = mc2" unlocked mysteries of the Universe theretofore unknown. Ten years later, in 1915, Einstein completed his General Theory of Relativity and in 1922 he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics. Einstein was a founder of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and bequeathed all his intellectual property rights to the institution upon his death in 1955.
