"Brain Tumor Awareness Day is a unique opportunity to meet experts, face to face, outside the office setting," says Alan D. Pesky, Brain Tumor Awareness Day Chairman. "Patients and professionals can share information and advice, hope and support - and take some comfort in knowing that there are teams of physicians and researchers working to make the journey a little easier."

"Regrettably, when brain tumors become symptomatic, most are incurable," says Dr. Patrick J. Kelly, President of BTF. "With our best modern treatments, all we can offer is a small gift of time. I am firmly convinced that early detection is the best insurance that treatment will be effective and that more lives will be saved. That is why we are offering each registrant of Brain Tumor Awareness Day a free, onsite MRI brain scan, on a first-come, first-served basis."

The Brain Tumor Foundation, founded in 1998, guides and supports patients and their families through the turbulent times when their lives are touched by a brain tumor while working to raise awareness about the importance of the early detection of brain tumors.
