Dr. Paul Tibbits, Deputy CIO for Architecture, Strategy, and Design, Veterans Affairs, to Keynote OMG Model-Driven Healthcare Summit

NEEDHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Object Management Group® (OMG®) announced today that Paul Tibbits, M.D., Deputy CIO for Architecture, Strategy and Design, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, will deliver a keynote at the Model-Driven Healthcare: The Modernization, Integration and Innovation Summit at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on March 25 in Reston, Virginia. This Summit will bring together thought leaders from government agencies, system integrators and practitioners to explore how to leverage Model-Based Systems Engineering to modernize, integrate and innovate healthcare solutions that span biomedical devices to healthcare IT.

Dr. Tibbits Bio

In his current position, Dr. Tibbits leads the development of the IT architecture for the Department of Veteran Affairs. He was previously inducted into Senior Executive Service in February 2004 and appointed Deputy Chief Information Officer for Enterprise Development for the Department of Veterans Affairs from October 2006 – March 2010. While at the VA, Dr. Tibbits led the Transformation-21 Work Group to set in place the IT organization, processes, projects, and knowledge management tools necessary to prepare the VA to operate in the 21st century.

Dr. Tibbits is a graduate of Loyola University New Orleans, Louisiana, where he earned a B.S. in biology. He subsequently earned an M.D. from Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, Louisiana.
