Dallas, TX (PRWEB) August 25, 2016

Eating Recovery Center, Dallas (ERC Dallas), a trusted provider of comprehensive treatment for eating disorders, announced today the addition of Dr. Michael Lutter, Dr. Connie Langellier, and Erin McGinty to its clinical and medical leadership team. Dr. Lutter will serve as a Staff Psychiatrist, McGinty as Clinical Director, and Dr. Langellier as a Clinical Manager. Together, with the existing team of experts, they aim to provide quality care to patients and their families as ERC Dallas meets the rising demand for specialized eating disorder treatment in that area.

"These new ERC Dallas staff members extend our commitment to providing the best in eating disorder treatment care, each bringing a unique understanding of treatment and years of experience that align with our mission and values," said Dr. Stephanie Setliff, Medical Director of ERC Dallas.

Michael Lutter, MD, Ph.D, joins ERC Dallas as a Staff Psychiatrist. A Physician-Scientist Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Lutter will work to improve treatments at ERC Dallas based on the latest research in the field. Since 2008, his research program at the University of Iowa has contributed several major discoveries to eating disorder research. These include identifying the first two rare genetic mutations associated with the risk of developing anorexia nervosa; demonstrating a role for the 'hunger' hormone ghrelin in mediating the effects of calorie restriction on mood and food reward; and defining a shared neural circuit for behavioral compulsivity and feeding that may contribute to the obsessionality frequently observed in patients with eating disorders. After graduating from the M.D./Ph.D. program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2003, he entered the Psychiatry Residency Program at the University of Texas Southwestern where he first became interested in the study and treatment of eating disorders. Upon completion, he received additional post-doctoral training in neuroscience and human genetics. Dr. Lutter has published 27 original research articles and has written 8 book chapters and review articles.

Erin McGinty, MS, LPC joins the team as the Clinical Director at ERC Dallas. With over 10 years of experience working with eating disorders in residential settings, as well as expertise treating co-occurring anxiety disorders and trauma, McGinty will bring her specialized training in exposure and response prevention therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and schema therapy to be directly involved in clinical care, as well as provide supervision and guidance to the other talented clinical staff. Prior to joining ERC, Dallas, McGinty served as the Clinical Director of Monte Nido's residential treatment program in New York and held clinical and leadership positions at other eating disorder programs, including Castlewood Treatment Center and Rogers Memorial Hospital.

Connie Langellier, Ph.D., joins the team as a new Clinical Manager who will be helping ERC Dallas expand its services in the area. With over 30 years of health care experience, she has developed a specialty in eating disorders with a primary focus on late adolescents and adults in the college population in the last 15 years of her career. Langellier holds a bachelor's in nursing from the University of Illinois, a master's in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College, and a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Illinois School of Professional Psychology.
