Dr. Louis Petro of Cendrowski Corporate Advisors to Receive the Michigan Association of CPAs' 2015 Accounting Teaching Excellence Award

Cendrowski Corporate Advisors (CCA) (http://www.cca-advisors.com), a financial consulting and litigation support firm with offices in Chicago, Ill., and Bloomfield Hills, Mich., is pleased to announce that Dr. Louis Petro has been selected by the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) as the recipient of their 2015 Accounting Teaching Excellence Award. The award recognizes educators who excel in teaching and promoting the CPA profession.

The Accounting Teaching Excellence Award will be presented to Dr. Petro at the MICPA Awards Dinner on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the Shenandoah Country Club in West Bloomfield, Mich.

Louis Petro, Ph.D, CPA, CGMA, CFE, is a Senior Manager and a leader of CCA's cost segregation study team, where he applies his extensive engineering and manufacturing experience. Dr. Petro also leads numerous workshops and informational sessions on behalf of CCA attended by business professionals. As an Accredited CLE Provider ("ACLEP") for Illinois MCLE, CCA makes business education and mentorship a key component of the firm's practice.

Other areas in which Dr. Petro has extensive professional experience include fraud deterrence and investigation, corporate governance, bankruptcy, information systems auditing, production and inventory controls, internal controls, and cost and managerial accounting.

Dr. Petro's dedicated service as a teacher and academic includes acting as Dean of the Lawrence Technological University School of Management from 1979 to 1989. Since 1969, Dr. Petro has taught auditing, systems, accounting, and finance courses at several accredited colleges and universities in Michigan and Ontario. He is currently a College Professor of Accounting in the Lawrence Technological University College of Management.

Prior to his auditing, teaching, and consulting career, Dr. Petro was a manufacturing engineer at the Chevrolet Division of General Motors and the General Motors Manufacturing Development Staff.

Dr. Petro remains active in continuing professional education for Certified Public Accountants, Certified Internal Auditors and Certified Managerial Accountants. He regularly conducts classes and seminars for the MICPA, the Oakland University Continuing Professional Education Program for Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Internal Auditors, and the Institute of Management Accountants.

In addition, Dr. Petro has been a question writer and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the United States Certified Management Accountant examination. He earned his undergraduate degree (BME in manufacturing engineering) from General Motor Institute and his MBA (Accounting) and Ph. D (Business Administration) from the University of Michigan.
