Griffey Jr. started his career with the Seattle Mariners after being drafted by the team with the first overall selection in the 1987 Major League Baseball First Year's Amateur Draft. Throughout his 21 year career, Griffey was a 13 time All Star selection, 10 time Gold Glove Winner, seven time Silver Slugger Award winner and hit over 630 career home runs, good for sixth best all time in the history of professional baseball. Griffey officially retired from Major League Baseball after the 2010 season.
