Colorado BioScience Association Salutes the State’s Leading Life Science Companies and Contributors at 2015 Awards Dinner

Medtronic Honored with Chairman’s Award, SomaLogic Named Company of the Year

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Colorado’s thriving life science sector celebrated the state’s most inventive bioscience companies, researchers and volunteers during the annual Colorado BioScience Association Awards Dinner. The 12th annual celebration honored the organizations and individuals who make Colorado a recognized center of bioscience innovation and investment:

Company of the YearSomaLogic has developed a new proteomics technology with a mission to leverage its proprietary technology to discover, develop and commercialize revolutionary new life science research tools and breakthrough clinical diagnostic products that will transform healthcare.

Rising StarNivalis Therapeutics (Nasdaq: NVLS) is advancing its proprietary, novel class of disease-modifying therapies in the clinic with the aim of improving the lives of people with cystic fibrosis. Nivalis became a public company in June 2015.

Educator of the YearMandi Ruud brings math and science concepts to life for middle school students in the Adams 12 Five Star School District. As part of the Colorado BioScience Institute’s research experience for teachers program, she interned at Sharklet Technologies.

Volunteer of the YearMark Lupa is a partner in High Country Venture and a member of the CBSA Board of Directors. Mark played a significant role in the success of the 2015 Rocky Mountain Life Science Investor and Partnering Conference and the launch of the Colorado BioScience Institute’s Executive Leadership Program.

Additionally, the Boettcher Foundation presented the 2015 Class of Boettcher Investigators in the Webb-Waring Biomedical Research Awards program.
