BERLIN, GERMANY -- (Marketwired) -- 11/03/15 -- CLOUD FOUNDRY SUMMIT EUROPE -- The Cloud Foundry Foundation, home of the industry standard Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), today announced CA Technologies, Cisco, Citigroup Inc., Hitachi Ltd., Royal Bank of Canada and SUSE have joined the organization. In only 10 short months investments in Cloud Foundry have grown tremendously as the independent foundation's membership has surged to more than 50 vendor and end-user companies worldwide. This, as Platform-as-a-Service takes a leading position in Cloud spending.

According to Enterprise Strategy Group, two-thirds of midmarket and enterprise organizations expect to increase their spending on cloud computing services. This is the fourth consecutive year that cloud computing has led every IT category in increased spending. ESG says penetration of PaaS has reached 35%, but more importantly 20% of respondents are in the process of evaluating PaaS. This positions PaaS to have the highest growth rate compared to IaaS and SaaS. *

"Over the past 10 months, we've seen incredible interest and adoption of Cloud Foundry by some of the biggest names in the financial services, technology and industrial Internet of Things industries," said Cloud Foundry Foundation CEO Sam Ramji. "Much of that interest and adoption is coming from end user and commercial vendor organizations who are investing as members of the Foundation to help build a strong future for the platform."
