Cincinnati-Based Law Firm Graydon Head Signs With Arc Managed Services

November 9, 2015 10:00 AM EST

KANSAS CITY, Kan., Nov. 9, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Epiq Systems (NASDAQ: EPIQ), a leading global provider of integrated technology solutions for the legal profession, today announced that Cincinnati-based law firm Graydon Head has signed a multi-year managed services contract with Epiq Systems. The deal includes ArcSM managed services, which gives the firm its own Relativity® environment for a fixed monthly fee.

"With Arc, we are able to provide our clients with cutting-edge eDiscovery solutions, but without the price tag that is typically associated with third-party vendors," said Graydon Litigation Partner Michael Jones.

"Graydon wants to treat every client case as if it were their most important case," said Andrew Shimek, global managing director at Epiq Systems. "With Arc, they now have the ability to use one of the best review tools on the market, no matter the case size."

The rapid evolution of eDiscovery tools has created unique challenges for firms. Jones explained that rather than spending a fortune to keep up with the rapidly evolving technologies and subsequently passing that cost on to clients, Graydon opted to partner with Epiq for eDiscovery managed services, including Arc's flat-fee Relativity platform. The partnership ensures that the firm will have access to best-in-class eDiscovery services at a fraction of what it would cost to buy and maintain them internally.

"With the explosion of eDiscovery, every firm needs professional eDiscovery solutions that remain current," said Jones.

Carla Bauer, eDiscovery best practices consultant and owner of Discovery iQ, helped Graydon make the choice to move to managed services and implement Arc. Bauer has over 10 years of experience working in the legal and eDiscovery fields.

"Arc gives us the administrative control we want," said Bauer. "We now have Relativity while still retaining the ability to stay on top of the cases ourselves."
