Chicago Gears Up for 'A Night of 14,000 Smiles'
WHO: Alderman Walter Burnett, Jr., of Chicago's 27th Ward,
Pastor William Gates of Hoop Dreams fame, and a
colorful contingent of costumed stilt-walkers, juggling
unicyclists and acrobatic circus clowns, will surprise scores
of after-school-program children at the not-for-profit Lower
North Center with the announcement that the youngsters are
first among 14,000 deserving children and families throughout
the city to receive free tickets to...
WHAT: "A Night of 14,000 Smiles," a special community performance of
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey(R) Presents
ZING ZANG ZOOM(R) to benefit Chicago families that would
otherwise not have the chance to experience the spectacle of
The Greatest Show On Earth(R).
Feld Entertainment, producer of Ringling Bros. and Barnum &
Bailey, with support from the United Center will open its
annual Chicago engagement one day earlier than originally
planned for this special community event, on Tuesday, Nov. 17.
Feld Entertainment and the United Center are working with
participating Chicago aldermen to distribute the 14,000 tickets
to those of greatest need in the community. Bus
transportation, made possible in part by Feld Entertainment,
will be provided for some of the evening's guests, along with
free popcorn and fountain drinks courtesy of Feld and the
United Center.
