CenturyLink to offer $1.4 million in Teachers and Technology grants

MONROE, La., Oct. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL) recognizes the educational opportunities available through creative uses of technology. Therefore, on Oct. 1, the company opened the application process for The CenturyLink Clarke M. Williams Foundation Teachers and Technology grant program.

Full-time and PreK-12 teachers in public, private and/or charter schools in CenturyLink local service areas in the U.S. are eligible to apply for a grant of up to $5,000 to innovatively implement technology in their classrooms to increase student achievement.

To apply, teachers should visit www.centurylink.com/teachersandtechnology. The deadline for applications is midnight (Eastern), Jan. 12, 2017.

The program, launched in 2008, has awarded more than $6 million in grants to bring technology to classrooms across the country. The Foundation will continue its commitment to schools by awarding $1.4 million in grants to support technology in the classroom through its 2016-2017 Teachers and Technology program.
