California Giant Berry Farms lets fans choose which school will receive a salad bar through Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools program

WATSONVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- This back-to-school season, California Giant Berry Farms is giving fans the opportunity to vote for one school to receive a salad bar as part of the company’s Fresh Start program.

California Giant Berry Farms is committed to providing more fresh produce options as a way to lower childhood obesity and increase classroom performance, which is why now through Sept. 20, they are encouraging consumers to vote every day for a local school that is currently on a waiting list to receive a salad bar from Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools.

“We are proud supporters of the Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools program, which has placed over 4,000 salad bars in schools across the U.S.,” said Cindy Jewell, vice president of marketing at California Giant Berry Farms. “This fall, we’re taking the campaign to our fans and hopefully building even more awareness about this national program to benefit kids at school.”

The school with the most votes by Sept. 20 will receive a salad bar and farm-fresh berries from California Giant Berry Farms to celebrate.

California Giant Berry Farms is also a premier sponsor of the 2015 Tour de Fresh cycling event in October that has a goal of placing up to 100 salad bars in schools during this school year.
