Barron's Article Makes Positive Comments on Onyx Pharmaceuticals (ONXX)

June 23, 2008 9:15 AM EDT

Barron's article makes positive comments on Onyx Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: ONXX), saying current valuation looks cheap, and highlights the company's Nexavar compound, which was developed through a 50-50 partnership with a unit of Bayer AG (NYSE: BAY).

The article does point out that the share price has been very volatile in the past, but feels the company's positive balance sheet, no debt and a growing partnership with Bayer might help the company/shares be less prone to erratic behavior. (Shares have fluctuated between $3 and $60 over the past 5-6 years)

Barron's also points out that Nexavar's potential is huge and that several positive studies have concluded and the drug may be helpful in even more than two types of cancers.

Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Onyx) is a biopharmaceutical company engaged in developing therapies that target the molecular mechanisms that cause cancer.
