Barnes & Noble to Host Special To Kill a Mockingbird Discussion Events in Celebration of the Upcoming Release of Go Set a Watchman

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), the nation’s largest retail bookseller and the leading retailer of content, digital media and educational products, is inviting customers to be part of the discussion with a special To Kill a Mockingbird events series in celebration of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Harper Lee and the highly anticipated July 14 release of her recently discovered novel Go Set a Watchman. The unearthing of this hidden manuscript has led to a historic literary moment – an unexpected second novel from Harper Lee – and Barnes & Noble is the place to experience everything related to both To Kill a Mockingbird and Go Set a Watchman.

On May 14, all Barnes & Noble stores nationwide will host a special To Kill a Mockingbird book discussion event, and on June 18 all stores will host a To Kill a Mockingbird ‘Page & Screen’ discussion. These will be followed in July with more special events to celebrate the July 14 release of Go Set a Watchman, with details to come.

First-time readers, re-readers, families reading together and customers of all ages are invited to attend this dynamic book discussion about one of the most-read books in America. To Kill a Mockingbird Page & Screen Discussion

On Thursday, June 18, at 7 p.m., customers are invited to their local Barnes & Noble store to join a lively discussion comparing this acclaimed novel and its screen version. Customers can discuss their favorite parts of the book, scenes from the movie, famous quotes, favorite characters, and more. July To Kill a Mockingbird Events

Barnes & Noble will also host a To Kill a Mockingbird Read-A-Thon in all stores on Monday, July 13. From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. the book will be read from start to finish and will feature a variety of readers from the community including educators, customers, booksellers, local authors and celebrities.
