“We’re proud to make this donation at an important time of year, and we hope that these books, toys and games make the holidays a little brighter for families who need some help,” said Len Riggio, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Barnes & Noble, Inc.

Barnes & Noble donated to the New York City Toys for Tots Foundation on Tuesday, December 13, with all of the products coming from the Barnes & Noble Distribution Center in Monroe, NJ. A team of Marines unloaded the truck at a base in Brooklyn, NY, where all of the products were organized to be sent out to charities and families in need across the city. “It makes a big difference to our annual effort to have a truck full of books and other great gifts coming in from Barnes & Noble. So many more children will have a book or a toy under the tree this holiday season thanks to this donation,” said Staff Sergeant Herbert Nicolas, Coordinator, Toys for Tots, NYC.

The Reno donation also took place on Tuesday, December 13, with all of the products coming from the Barnes & Noble Distribution Center in Reno, NV. The Nevada National Guard and the Reno Sheriff’s Department were on hand to help the Marine Toys for Tots coordinators unload the truck and distribute the donation to families in need. “This is the second year that Barnes & Noble has come in with a major donation in Reno, and it truly makes a difference in the lives of people in our community,” said Jon Yuspa, founder of the Nevada Honor Flight. “The entire team is excited to get all of these great books and toys out to local kids this holiday season.”
