At the Haben Funeral Home & Crematory, it's All About One Family, One Goal and the Next Generation

William Haben grew up next to a funeral home, one that has been owned and operated by his family since 1923. However, it wasn't until his sophomore year of college that he decided to become a funeral director. Now, William is the fourth generation of his family to come aboard the Haben Funeral Home & Crematory, and is celebrating his first year as a licensed funeral director.

"I wanted to be in a service industry that helped people in their time of need. I have always enjoyed interacting with people and helping in any way possible," said William. "I am honored to carry on that tradition created by my family."

William worked at the family's funeral home while attending Worsham College of Mortuary Science. Once finished with school, he passed the national board exam, which enabled him to become an apprentice, after which he received his license in 2014.

"Ever since its founding, the Haben Funeral Home has been dedicated to serving the families of the Skokie area with complete personal concern," said William. "In addition to the home, we have always been active in local service organizations and deeply involved in making the community a better place to live."
