SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 18, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (Nasdaq: AMCC), also known as AppliedMicro, today announced the immediate availability of its X-C1™ Development Kits , low-cost, low-power development systems featuring the company's innovative X-Gene™ Server-on-a-Chip (SoC) solution. The systems come in two versions – Plus and Basic – and each provides a native ARM 64-bit environment for developers working on both mobile and server applications.
"Large cloud and enterprise customers as well as leading operating system vendors and independent software vendors have been using X-C1 development platforms for some time now. Today's announcement, coupled with our limited-time developer promotion, means the developer base utilizing X-Gene will expand substantially," said Gaurav Singh, VP Technology Strategy, AppliedMicro.

- Interfaces on the board include 1GbE, 10GbE, SATA Gen3, PCIe Gen3, USB, SDIO and industry standard debug interfaces

- Operating system offerings include AppliedMicro Linux, Ubuntu, Fedora and OpenSuse
- Pricing: Standard MSRP is $2,495. With AppliedMicro's current developer promotion, qualified buyers can purchase the board for $1,395

- Interfaces on the board include 1GbE, SATA Gen3, PCIe Gen3, USB, SDIO and industry standard debug interfaces
- Kit includes Mini-ITX power supply and serial-USB FDTI console cable
- Operating system offerings include AppliedMicro Linux, Ubuntu, Fedora and OpenSuse
- Pricing: Standard MSRP is $1,495. With AppliedMicro's current developer promotion, qualified buyers can purchase the board for $895
