Appirio Adds New Senior Leadership in U.S. and Japan
Ellen Humphrey joins as SVP of Human Resources; Takashi Watanabe joins as GM of Japan
INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Appirio has appointed two tech sector veterans to senior leadership positions in the U.S. and Japan. Ellen Humphrey joins Appirio as Senior Vice President of Human Resources, with Takashi Watanabe joining as General Manager and Vice President of Appirio Japan.
Humphrey will lead Appirio's global talent and HR strategies and brings a long history of HR leadership roles. Humphrey was VP of Global Talent and HR Operations at ExactTarget, a salesforce.com company, where she oversaw the company's international HR, talent development, and HR operations. With more than 15 years of experience, Humphrey has a proven track record of leading global human resources operations across the high-tech sector and delivering sustainable results.
Humphrey serves on the board of Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis, which promotes healthy relationships and financial literacy and encourages interest in science, math, and relevant technology for girls ages six to 18. She is also active in the Mentoring Women's Network. Her passion for diversity further supports Appirio's short and long-term goals for increasing the number of women in leadership positions.
Watanabe brings more than 20 years of cloud and technology consulting and sales experience. Prior to joining Appirio Japan, Watanabe held multiple senior management positions, including Head of Solution Consulting at Adobe Japan, Head of Cloud Sales of SAP Japan, and positions with Nomura Securities and iSiD (Information Services International-Dentsu). Most recently, Watanabe was Director of Sales for Kenshoo Japan, where he focused on accelerating monetization by advertisers and agencies via search engine marketing and paid social technology platforms.
As Appirio continues to develop its technology-driven public cloud solutions, Watanabe will be responsible for managing new business opportunities and expanding strategic partnerships in Japan.
"There's no doubt these industry heavy-hitters are a huge asset to our team," said Chris Barbin, CEO of Appirio. "We have aggressive goals for 2016 and beyond, and both Ellen and Watanabe will be key players in exceeding our own expectations."
