American Science and Engineering, Inc. Awarded Service and Maintenance Renewal Contract in Latin America for $11.6 Million

("AS&E") (Nasdaq: ASEI), a leading worldwide supplier of innovative X-ray detection solutions, announced today that it has received an $11.6 million multi-year contract from a Latin American government agency to continue servicing and maintaining its AS&E X-ray inspection systems in support of its counter-drug and anti-terrorism missions. The agency has deployed multiple AS&E systems throughout the country, including ZBV® mobile vehicle and cargo inspection systems as well as fixed vehicle, cargo, and parcel screening systems.
