Alzheimer’s Association Honors Argentum Board Member Tom DeRosa

Welltower CEO and Director Tom DeRosa recognized as Brain Ball National Honoree

ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Alzheimer’s Association is recognizing Argentum Board member and Welltower CEO and Director Tom DeRosa as its national honoree at the Brain Ball, a charitable event with proceeds supporting the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease.

The Brain Ball, this evening in Washington, D.C., serves to raise funds for cutting edge research and critical support services for individuals, families and caregivers facing the daily challenges of the disease. DeRosa, whose father died of complications from Alzheimer’s, is committed to advancing memory care and connectivity across the health care continuum to provide quality of life and dignity for people living with dementia.

“Tom DeRosa is an outstanding industry leader and most deserving of this recognition, highlighting his passion and commitment to elevating awareness of the disease and making it a national priority,” said Argentum Board Chairman Brenda Bacon, who also serves as president and CEO of Brandywine Living.

Welltower and its partners and operators have raise more than $3 million for the Alzheimer’s Association, including more than $250,000 by Welltower employees and a $250,000 grant from the Welltower Foundation.

This morning, Welltower Inc. (NYSE: HCN), the Alzheimer’s Association and Miss USA 2015 Olivia Jordan rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease. The group also participated in a ceremonial lighting of the Empire State Building, which while DeRosa accepts his award this evening will be lit purple for Alzheimer’s awareness.
