According to Solstin, Self-Driving Vehicles Open the Next Wave of Electrification

October 19, 2016 4:00 AM EDT

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Solstin says self-driving vehicles will open a new wave of electrification, not only of vehicles, but the electrification of infrastructure. Dedicated Driverless (DD) corridors promise: Lighter bridges, narrower tunnels and increased vehicles per lane. Dedicated Driverless (DD) corridors, especially, open a clear path to large-scale electrification of infrastructure: the promise of clean energy and security from the oil-hierarchies.

The FASTEST EV CHARGING happens when self-driving vehicles lock-onto a 200kW, inductive centerline. Solstin’s patented and patent pending 200kW wireless power takes advantage self-driving EVs ability to hold the centerline. Self-driving EVs draw more power from wireless inductive power. EV braking hardware is also “copacetic” with high-powered charging. Fundamentally, high-power spreads the intermittent connections further apart, simplifying the electrification of future infrastructure.

For the reasons stated in the first paragraph, DD infrastructure can go places traditional roads cannot, even underground. More significantly, climate and security may demand the next wave of electrical infrastructure. The patented electrical connection (US Patent Application 20160052398 and US 8,556,050 B2) for self-driving EVs and road electrification could become the distinguishing solution for the self-driving contenders.
