AXIS Capital Recognized by Forbes as One of “America’s 50 Most Trustworthy Financial Companies”

PEMBROKE, Bermuda--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- AXIS Capital Holdings Limited (“AXIS Capital” or “the Company”) (NYSE: AXS) was recently named to Forbes’ 2015 list of “America’s 50 Most Trustworthy Financial Companies.” This is the second consecutive year AXIS Capital was named to the Forbes ranking, which is exclusive to banks and insurance companies and highlights those whose corporate governance practices are amongst the most transparent in the industry.

MSCI ESG Research provides the data underpinning the ranking to Forbes after reviewing the accounting and governance practices at more than 700 publicly traded North American companies with market capitalizations of $250 million or greater, for the year ending March 2015. Factors considered in the assessment include high-risk events, revenue and expense recognition methods, SEC actions, and bankruptcy risk. MSCI ESG Research then assigns each company an “Aggressive Accounting and Governance Risk” (AGR) score based on its performance in the assessment.

AXIS Capital received an average AGR score over the last four quarters of 87 out of a possible 100, including a 91 in the first quarter of 2015. These results reflect the Company’s ongoing commitment to financial transparency, corporate governance and its disciplined approach to risk management.
