AIM TV Group's "Raw Travel - Cuba Undercover" Premieres This Weekend in the United States

New York, NY (PRWEB) October 26, 2016

AIM Tell-A-Vision Group (AIM TV) announced today that its syndicated television series Raw Travel® will debut the highly anticipated "Cuba Undercover" episode this weekend, October 29th & 30th.

Since virtually all outside media visits to Cuba are subject to close supervision from government minders, censors and handlers, the scaled down, two-person "Raw Travel" crew posed incognito as tourists on a cultural exchange.

They were able to film "Cuba Undercover" undetected by Cuban authorities this past summer by using handheld "prosumer" equipment, wireless microphones and iPhones to surreptitiously capture a side of Cuba the U.S. public has rarely seen.

For several decades, Cubans and journalists alike have been censored under some of the most restrictive freedom of speech and freedom of press laws in the world. But with U.S. and Cuban relations beginning to normalize and tourism from the U.S. to the island nation opening up, there is renewed hope that things may change.

"Raw Travel" wanted to give their viewers and potential travelers the insight and context of a truly authentic Cuban experience to help viewers consider for themselves whether U.S. to Cuba tourism is a positive force for change, or just propping up a struggling government trying to maintain its control.

"I've witnessed first-hand the oppression the Cuban government imposes on its own citizens and I'm in awe at the bravery of the Cubans who were willing to tell their stories. I've also read about my own, U.S. government's culpability in isolating Cuba during critical junctures over the years, so I believe there's blame enough to go around" states Robert G. Rose, Executive Producer and Host of Raw Travel.

"Now that things are changing, we wanted to offer an honest look at the lives of real Cubans with no particular political ax to grind other than the belief in basic human rights for all. We wanted to get beyond the glib portrayals from previous entertainment shows or the manipulative imagery from documentaries like Michael Moore's 'Sicko'. I felt that posing as tourists was the only way we could attempt to accomplish this challenging task" Rose continues.

The "Cuba Undercover" Episode will be followed by the "Port Au Prince" episode the following weekend (November 5th-6th), which will offer an unflinching view of travel to Haiti and the sometimes controversial role Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and other aid organizations play there.
