Pop the Question at Fazoli's Valentine's Day Feb 10, 2012 01:44PM

Receive Free Spaghetti for a Year and a Partner for Life

LEXINGTON, Ky., Feb. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- There's nothing more romantic than getting engaged over an Italian dinner.  Unless, of course, the Italian dinner engagement occurs on Valentine's Day, which is extra special.  And this Valentine's Day, if you get engaged at a participating Fazoli's restaurant, you'll not only get a partner for life, you'll both receive free spaghetti for a year.

Fazoli's is offering any couple that gets engaged in the restaurant on Tuesday, February 14 two certificates for a year's worth of free spaghetti.  The offer is good at any participating Fazoli's restaurant.  Whoever is planning to pop the question simply needs to let the restaurant manager know in advance, not after the fact.  It's a great way to celebrate a very special occasion.  And because Fazoli's entrees are so economically priced, there will be extra money toward that bigger diamond ring.

Future brides will also like the fact that Fazoli's is featuring 500 Calorie or Less entrees.  They include Chicken Mushroom Alfredo Bake, Three Cheese Baked Ravioli, Chicken Penne & Peppers, and Cherry Almond Chicken Chopped Salad.  Other new items at participating locations include Tuscan Chicken Flatbread Pizza and Chicken Broccoli Florentine Flatbread Pizza.  These dishes are the ideal choice before wedding dress fittings.

Cathy Hull, Fazoli's Chief Marketing Officer, hopes many couples take Fazoli's up on its offer this Valentine's Day.  "A romantic dinner doesn't have to cost a lot," said Hull.  "Fazoli's is not only a favorite destination for families, it's also a popular place for college students, some of whom had their first dates at the restaurant.  It seems fitting then that they get engaged at Fazoli's on Valentine's Day."

An American family favorite for more than 20 years, Fazoli's has a fresh new look and an all new premium menu featuring freshly prepared Italian entrees, Submarinos® sandwiches and salads, and is expanding in markets throughout the country.

Cobalt Mortgage Pioneers New Scholarship Foundation Feb 10, 2012 01:43PM

KIRKLAND, Wash., Feb. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Cobalt Mortgage, one of the largest privately owned mortgage banking firms in the Pacific Northwest, has partnered with Scholarship America's Dollars for Scholars program to establish the first corporate chapter in the nation. Scholarship America started as a movement in 1958, became a national organization in 1961, and now in its second half-century is on its way to becoming a widely recognized nonprofit. Celebrity Katie Couric endorses Scholarship America, donating all the profits of her new book, "The Best Advice I Ever Got," toward the goal of supporting students. Elements such as Scholarship America's solid reputation, having received a four-star ranking by Charity Navigator for nine consecutive years, and an A+ rating from the American Institute of Philanthropy's Charity Watch, assured the Cobalt management team of the benefits of this alliance.

"We are honored to work with Scholarship America's Dollars for Scholars program to promote higher education for students in our communities," said Keith Tibbles, President and Co-founder of Cobalt Mortgage. "Rising costs are closing the doors to post-secondary education for many talented and deserving students. My team believes in the long term 'pay it forward' benefits of showing students that the community cares about their future. As a key component of our corporate citizenship initiatives, our active efforts to fund and volunteer in this foundation demonstrate our dedication to the success of local students."

"Cobalt Mortgage is demonstrating a phenomenal commitment to students through the development of this chapter," said Lauren A. Segal, President and CEO of Scholarship America. "It's also exciting that Cobalt's employees make up the chapter's leadership and volunteers, and that the scholarships are supported through both employee and corporate contributions. We're thrilled to have them join our family."

In August 2011, Cobalt Mortgage Dollars for Scholars sent out $26,000 in scholarships to 26 students in locations from Seattle to Eatonville, WA and from Pleasant Hill, OR, to Scottsdale, AZ.

The most recent phase of their plan is the Affiliate Partner Opportunity that launched in December 2011. It provides the opportunity for individuals and businesses, in communities where Cobalt Mortgage has branch offices, to jointly create scholarships. Cobalt Mortgage Dollars for Scholars simplifies and streamlines the process, working with partners who have a passion for education. Funds have been set aside to co-fund or match the scholarships established by Affiliate Partners providing a larger, more impactful scholarship for each recipient.

The first Affiliate Partners to officially create and fund scholarships in their names are Ken Reid of Genworth Mortgage Insurance in Lake Forest Park, WA, and the Windermere Northwest office in Seattle, WA. These first 2012 scholarships have been matched 100 percent by Cobalt Mortgage Dollars for Scholars. "This is an opportunity for me as an individual to promote student access to higher education," said Ken Reid, when approached by Jaimie Garrett, President of Cobalt Mortgage Dollars for Scholars. He went on to comment, "education is such an important tool for our youth, from both a business and community standpoint, that we all have to do our part to make a difference."

U.S. Congressional Candidate Utah Rep. Stephen Sandstrom to Present at CPAC 2012 Feb 10, 2012 01:42PM

WASHINGTON, DC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 02/10/12 -- Running for U.S. Congress in Utah's new 4th District is Rep. Stephen Sandstrom who will share with CPAC 2012 attendees on Saturday, February 11 at 3:30 p.m. why causes such as reducing federal spending and repealing the Affordability Care Act are critical to moving the conservative platform forward in Utah and nationwide.

Prior to CPAC, Rep. Sandstrom took time to meet face-to-face with several of Utah's federal representatives to share Utah's most pressing issues and concerns, and ensure Washington, D.C. is listening to Utah constituents.

"At this time more than ever, it is critical that we keep our states' rights fire burning in Washington," said Sandstrom. "What many citizens and voters don't realize is that they each have a voice with their local, state, and federal representatives. If elected to Congress in November, I plan to make listening, learning, and doing a priority."

Sandstrom recently received designation from the National Republican Congressional Committee's "Young Guns" program that he's on the radar. The NRCC announced Sandstrom's addition Thursday, with NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions, R-Texas saying: "We are looking forward to working with Stephen Sandstrom, who has already proven himself by meeting rigorous benchmarks in the Young Guns program that will position his campaign for victory."

A lifelong resident of Utah, he graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Political Science. He believes in promoting growth through lower taxes, which allow hard-working Utah citizens and Americans to retain their hard-earned savings. Compassionate and approachable, Sandstrom is a listener and trusted problem solver. He is well-known in the community as an honest, classic Reagan conservative. Ohio State Announces the Naming of The Ohio State University Medical Center in Honor of Leslie H. Wexner Feb 10, 2012 01:42PM

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Ohio State University Medical Center is being renamed today, in honor of one of the university's most committed leaders and benefactors, Leslie H. Wexner ('59). The Ohio State University Board of Trustees unanimously voted this morning in favor of the name change – affirming that Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University is a fitting tribute for Mr. Wexner's three decades of visionary leadership and service.

"Les has been among Ohio State's most dedicated leaders and most passionate supporters for many decades, and someone who continues to make an indelible impact on our community," said President E. Gordon Gee. "His generous contributions, both in time and resources, have been wholly transformational, but his most valuable gift has been his extraordinary leadership. He has a firm and unequivocal vision for our academic Medical Center, and that is to be a world-class institution, period."

Gee added that the new naming "recognizes the critical work the Wexners have undertaken to ensure The Ohio State University Medical Center is able to solve some of medicine's most persistent challenges and change lives for the better."

Mr. Wexner's philanthropic connection to Ohio State began three years after he graduated, when he made a $5 donation to the university. For more than 30 years, Mr. Wexner and his affiliates have donated more than $200 million to the university, as well as hundreds of millions more that Mr. Wexner has directly helped to raise. Last year, Mr. Wexner, his wife Abigail, and the Limited Brands Foundation's $100 million gift to the medical center, the James Cancer Hospital and the Wexner Center for the Arts was the largest single donation in Ohio State's history.

Mr. Wexner has led Ohio State during significant times of progress. He has served 16 years on the Board of Trustees. As the current board chair, Mr. Wexner helped to guide the $1 billion expansion of the medical center, the largest undertaking in the university's history and one that will revolutionize the way cancer prevention and care is provided.

As a founding member and the first chair of The Ohio State University Foundation Board, and later as a member of the University Campaign Steering Committee, Mr. Wexner became a driving force behind the growth of the university's endowment, which now totals more than $2 billion.

Mr. Wexner and his family also have been closely involved with many of the signature programs connected with the medical center. They chair the James Fund for Life Campaign and have contributed significantly to the Stress, Trauma and Resilience Program. Mrs. Wexner currently serves on the medical center's Board of Directors. The Wexners have been lead supporters of Pelotonia, one of the most successful research fundraisers in the nation. In its first three years, this annual bike tour has raised more than $25 million for cancer research at The Ohio State University James Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.

"I have often said that but for The Ohio State University, I would not have had an opportunity to receive a college degree," Mr. Wexner said. "Attending this university changed my life, and I continue to witness the incredible potential this institution has to do the same thing for others. The Ohio State University Medical Center is one of the finest academic medical centers in the country. I have every confidence that the complex medical challenges confronting us today will be solved at The Ohio State University through the collaboration among researchers and scientists from a broad spectrum of specialties."

Dr. Steven G. Gabbe, CEO of Wexner Medical Center, added that The Ohio State University has a vision. "It is one in which Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University is synonymous with life-changing, personalized health care, based on the unique needs of each patient. This institution has been shaped by the vision and commitment of Mr. and Mrs. Wexner and is proud to carry their name."

Located in Columbus, Ohio, Wexner Medical Center is one of the largest and most diverse academic medical centers in the country and the only academic medical center in central Ohio. Ohio State's medical center includes: the College of Medicine; six hospitals; a unified physician practice; a network of primary and specialty care practices; more than a dozen research centers and institutes; and 20 core laboratories.

Ohio State's medical center is a national leader in transforming health care through P4 Medicine, a health care system that is personalized, predictive, preventive and participatory. The academic medical center's six signature programs – Cancer, Critical Care, Heart, Imaging, Neurosciences and Transplantation – and supporting programs are key to providing science-based and individually tailored patient care to people in central Ohio and beyond. Ohio State has ranked among the nation's best hospitals for nearly 20 years and the National Cancer Institute recently rated Ohio State's cancer program as "exceptional," the highest rating given by National Cancer Institute survey teams.

Background

In addition to providing the seed money for the Wexner Center for the Arts, named for his father, Mr. Wexner created the Wexner Prize for the Arts, which has brought to Columbus some of the world's most original and influential artists such as Spike Lee and Martin Scorsese.

Mr. Wexner was instrumental in the formation of Fisher College of Business and in ensuring its place today as one of the premier business schools in the country. He and Mrs. Wexner also created the Fisher Council on Global Trade and Technology and the Fisher Prize to honor the lifelong achievements of both the Fisher Prize honoree and Max M. Fisher. Mr. Wexner is the current chair of The Ohio State University Board of Trustees; Mrs. Wexner serves on the Wexner Medical Center Board.

Beyond the Ohio State campus, the Wexners have demonstrated a commitment to the health and well-being of women, children and families. They continue to be active in the Wexner Institute for Pediatric Research at Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Mrs. Wexner is the chair of the Nationwide Children's Hospital board, and she founded and serves as chair of the boards of directors for KidsOhio.org and the Center for Family Safety and Healing at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
