5K Makes Everyone A Superhero

SALT LAKE CITY, Aug. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Once again, thousands of "superheroes" —­ donning capes and masks — will converge upon the EnergySolutions Arena (100 S. 300 W.) on August 22, 2015, at 6:30 a.m. to take part in a charitable run organized to raise funds for those who are suffering or in critical need.

The USANA (NYSE: USNA) True Health Foundation's Champions for Change 5K, part of USANA's International Convention, will host superhero-themed runners from all around the world to help make a difference in the lives of others. The race has even gotten the attention of Dr. Oz, three-time Emmy–award winning host of The Dr. Oz Show, and Amy Purdy, 2014 Dancing with the Stars runner-up and bronze Paralympian, who will be masters of ceremonies this year.                                                                                

"What makes this run so special is that 100 percent of proceeds will go to help those who are in need from all around the world," says Dave Wentz, USANA's CEO. "This year, we were able to provide a $50,000 donation to the people of Nepal, thanks in part to this race."

Even though the majority of runners are distributors for the global nutrition company, everyone is invited to participate in the 5K.

Event Details:

• Onsite registration — 6 a.m.
• Master of ceremonies welcome — 6:30 a.m. (Dr. Oz and Amy Purdy)
• Pre-run warm-up — 6:45 a.m.
• Race begins — 7 a.m.

Pricing Schedule:

• Pre-registration prices (ends Aug. 18): $25 per adult, $15 per child
• USANA International Convention prices (August 19–21) $30 per adult; $18 per child
• Onsite registration prices (Aug. 22): $35 per adult, $20 per child
