SAN RAMON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- 24 Hour Fitness, the largest privately owned U.S. fitness chain and leading health club pioneer, today announced the grand opening of the 24 Hour Fitness Pearl City Super Sport. The new club offers state-of-the-art amenities, including innovative group exercise classes, an indoor pool, steam room, a full-sized basketball court and more. The Honolulu team invites the public to come experience the club on "Pearl City 24 Hour Fitness Day" and workout for free. The doors officially open at 6 a.m. on Nov. 6, 2009. Opening day festivities will include a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. with Richard T. Haru, deputy director of the department of parks and recreation of Honolulu and Carl Liebert, chief executive officer of 24 Hour Fitness. In addition, there will be equipment demonstrations, free fitness orientations with qualified 24 Hour Fitness personal trainers, surprises for both keikis and adults and much more.
"This is one of the most impressive clubs we have built to date and the largest property for 24 Hour Fitness in the Honolulu area since 2002. We are both proud and excited to open this new location to help the Pearl City community get healthy and fit," said Liebert.
The 46,000 square foot club located at 1000 Kamehameha Highway in Pearl City will be managed by Michael Quezeda a five year veteran and will employ approximately 50 team members. Additional club amenities include: a pro-shop, sauna, indoor whirlpool, a functional circuit training area and Kids' Club, where children ages 6 months to 12 years can enjoy activities while their parents work out. Personal trainers are also on hand to help members achieve their fitness goals. Memberships can be purchased online or in the club. The new Pearl City Super Sport club is the eighth 24 Hour Fitness club to be built in Oahu.
