10 Cities in the Running for National Water Conservation Title

The Wyland Foundation, in partnership with the U.S. EPA, wraps up their National Mayor's Challenge for Water Conservation. Thousands of residents in cities nationwide are pledging to conserve water and reduce pollution for this annual Earth Month campaign.

With one day remaining, the top ten cities with the most pledges rally to place their last entries at mywaterpledge.com--for thousands of dollars in prizes and the title of the "Most Water Wise" city in the nation. The top ten, in order, are:

1. Denver, Colorado
2. Baltimore, Maryland
3. Boston, Massachusetts
4. Nashville-Davidson, Tennessee
5. Seattle, Washington
6. Jacksonville, Florida
7. San Diego, California
8. San Antonio, Texas
9. Phoenix, Arizona
10. Louisville/Jefferson County, Kentucky

WHAT: Last day of National Mayor's Challenge for Water Conservation

WHO: Cities with population sizes ranging between 5,000 to 600,000 and over. Sponsoring partners include Toyota, ECOS - makers of Earth friendly products, Conserva Irrigation, the Toro Company and the National League of Cities.

WHEN: Saturday, April 30 at 11:59pm PST (contest ends online at mywaterpledge.com)
