'Steal the Wind Reap the Whirlwind' Seeks Solutions for Global Warming

Author Duane Hyland questions what he calls false assumptions and makes the case that courageous, brilliant scientists can tackle global warming by developing totally new, nonpolluting forms of energy in "Steal the Wind Reap the Whirlwind: A Challenge to Find a New Path to Solving the Global Warming Problem" (published by Archway Publishing).

"The Earth is 4.5 billion years old. The most recent Glacial Period ended a mere 12,000 or so years ago," Hyland says, asking, "Could the last 165 years really bring about a geologic event as significant as that which melted the glaciers that formed America's five Great Lakes?"

Hyland shares the concern that rising levels of greenhouse gas emissions can have a warming effect on Earth; instead, he takes aim at current "'Renewable' sources of energy" as viable solutions, asserting such efforts are likely propelled "by those I refer to as 'socio-enviro-emotionalists' as well as naive politicians, profit-minded industrialists and socio-scientists rather than rational thinkers."

Ultimately, Hyland labors to cut through what he deems as nonsensical and establish a movement to seek out plausible panaceas: "I call upon rational scientists to find a radically new source of energy to ultimately provide an unlimited supply of clean electrical power."
