"World's Best Job" Search Begins for Somebody Willing to Explore the Top Retirement Havens on the Planet--All Expenses Paid--InternationalLiving.com

In 2016, InternationalLiving.com will send the winner of its "World's Best Job" competition to one or more of the destinations rated as the best retirement havens in the world. The winner will explore at least one overseas haven and report on the experience. The prize includes a round-trip flight plus $5,000 in spending money.

"We're looking for an American or Canadian with a sense of adventure, a willingness to try new things, and a belief that instead of settling for an ordinary retirement at home or the lingering drudgery of a 9-5 life…other, better options might exist overseas. We're looking for somebody who's curious about the many better-value destinations abroad where you can spend less to live better and even supplement your budget with a portable income like travel writing," says Executive Editor of InternationalLiving.com, Jennifer Stevens.

The winner will get a chance to travel to one (or more) of InternationalLiving.com's top retirement havens. The prize includes a single round-trip airfare from the U.S. or Canada to the winner's country of choice from InternationalLiving.com's top-retirement-havens list, plus $5,000 to fund the adventure. The places in this retirement-haven list include countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

"We're looking for the winner to spend a minimum of a month abroad…but a longer stay is fine. The winner can choose to explore just one country…or to travel to more than one. The $5,000 award is to be spent at the winner's discretion," Stevens says.

The ideal candidate has some writing experience. A familiarity with photography is a plus.

"We are looking for someone willing to document his or her travel experiences overseas and share details about things like how much life costs, what he or she does to stay busy, impressions of the destination (or destinations) discovered, likes, frustrations, pleasant surprises, and more," Stevens says.

Each of these top retirement havens offers a great climate, low cost of living, good infrastructure, a safe environment, top-notch healthcare…and various other attributes which make them comfortable for North Americans to move to and live in.

To enter, candidates are asked to write a headline and a 150-word lead describing their favorite travel experience. Deadline for submissions is October 19 and the winner will be announced on InternationalLiving.com on November 30.
