Wunderlich Securities initiates coverage on Covanta Holdings (NYSE: CVA) with a Buy. Price target $20.
Wunderlich analyst says, "Weak energy prices and lingering economic fears are likely to cause near-term stock price volatility. However, longer term, with or without climate change legislation, energy prices are expected to move higher. Regardless of near-term energy price swings, fundamentals for CVA are solid, and over the longer term we believe that CVA will benefit from the macro trends of Peak Oil and/or Climate Change. These two NewEnergy trends are expected to put steady upward pressure on energy prices worldwide and favor renewable energy sources such as biomass and municipal solid waste (MSW)."
