Piper Jaffray & Co. initiates coverage on Vertex Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: VRTX) with a Buy. Price target $43.
Piper analyst says, "Vertex is one of the few biotech companies today that we believe can deliver a true blockbuster drug in the next few years. As a result, we expect VRTX shares to appreciate significantly over the next 12-months ahead of Phase III data and approval. Huge market opportunity makes Vertex an attractive acquisition candidate for Big Pharma, in our view."
